Residential Installation
Let’s get into the details of how we design the perfect solar solution for your home and lifestyle.
Step 1: Info Gathering
To start your personalized solar design, we’ll need:
-
Your address
-
A copy of your utility bill (ideally showing 12 months of usage)
This allows us to:
-
Analyze your energy usage patterns
-
Assess available roof or land space
-
Size a system that aligns with your goals and your budget
Step 2: Defining Your Goals
Before we design your system, we’ll discuss questions like:
-
Do you want to reduce or eliminate your electric bill?
-
Are you planning for net metering or battery backup?
-
Do you have plans to add an EV charger, hot tub, pool, or HVAC upgrades?
-
Are you expecting lifestyle or appliance changes that may affect your usage?
-
Do you prefer a roof-mount, ground-mount, or are you unsure?
Solar is not a one-size-fits-all solution — and that’s a good thing. We’ll tailor the system to your unique needs and future plans.
Step 3: Custom Design & Permitting
Once we’ve locked in your system specs, we’ll prepare:
-
A detailed site plan
-
Equipment layout
-
Electrical design documents
After your approval, we submit everything to:
-
Local permitting authorities
-
Your utility company
This process typically takes 2–8 weeks, depending on your location.
Step 4: Installation Day(s)
We’ll reach out the day before install to confirm access and details.
Most installs begin between 8–9am, unless you request otherwise.
Here’s what to expect:
-
We’ll walk through the site plan one more time with you before we begin
-
You’ll only need to be home for one full day — or two days if you’re adding batteries or a generator
-
If the install takes longer, any follow-up work is done entirely outside, so we don’t disrupt your schedule
We keep things clear, flexible, and homeowner-friendly.
Step 5: Final Inspection & Utility Approval
-
We’ll schedule and attend the final inspection (usually within 1–3 business days)
-
Then we submit the results to your utility provider
-
Utility approval and meter programming can take 2–4 weeks, depending on their process
Step 6: System Activation & Monitoring
Once utility gives us the green light:
-
We’ll activate your system
-
You’ll get access to your monitoring portal (available on phone or desktop)
-
We’ll walk you through everything — live
